FAKTOR YANG MEMPENGARUHI MINAT PUTRA PETANI TERHADAP PEKERJAAN PERTANIAN DI KECAMATAN LAWANG, KABUPATEN MALANG, JAWA TIMUR

This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the interest of farmers’ sons in pursuing agricultural occupations in Lawang District, Malang Regency, East Java. It also seeks to understand how these influencing factors affect their career preferences in agriculture. The data used in this study consist of both primary and secondary sources, collected through field observations in Lawang District, as well as from the Central Bureau of Statistics of East Java, the Lawang Sub-district Government, the Agricultural Extension Agency of Lawang, and various academic journals accessed via Google Scholar, ResearchGate, and Neliti. The analytical method employed is Structural Equation Modeling – Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results indicate that Variable X1 (Internal Factors) has a path coefficient of 0.253, t-statistic of 3.117, and a p-value of 0.002. Variable X2 shows the highest coefficient at 0.394, with a t-statistic of 4.544 and a p-value of 0.000. Variable X3 has a coefficient of 0.198, t-statistic of 2.355, and a p-value of 0.019. Variable X4 presents a coefficient of 0.313, t-statistic of 3.866, and p-value of 0.000. Variable X5 records a coefficient of 0.338, t-statistic of 4.286, and p-value of 0.000. All p-values are below the 0.05 significance threshold, confirming that each factor has a positive and significant influence on the interest of farmers' sons in choosing agricultural work as their occupation.
