Abstract

The rapid growth of online gaming content on social media, particularly YouTube, has given rise to new communication phenomena such as trash talking, which frequently occurs in interactions between players. This study aims to identify the forms of trash talking found in Mobile Legends video game content on the YouTube account Top Global Miya. The method used is a descriptive quantitative approach with content analysis techniques on video transcripts selected based on the highest number of views. The theory used in this study is Albert Bandura's Social Aggression Theory, which highlights the learning process of aggressive behavior through observation. The results show that negative trash talking is more dominant than positive forms. These negative forms include insults, provocation, and the use of harsh language, while positive forms focus more on motivation and competitive spirit. These findings indicate that gaming content on YouTube can be a social learning medium that shapes user communication behavior, especially among adolescents. This research contributes to the understanding of digital communication in the realm of online gaming and its impact on interaction patterns in new media.
