Abstract

Extracurricular activities are still a debate because many people consider extracurricular activities to take up study time and have an impact on academic achievement. However, extracurricular activities can have a positive impact or at least do not affect the academic achievement of medical students. Extracurricular activities are known to have positive and negative effects related to factors that affect student achievement index. This study aims to determine the influence of students who are active in extracurricular activities on their achievements, in the form of Cumulative Achievement Index. The subjects of this study were students of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Muhammadiyah Malang, Class of 2022 who were willing to take part in this study and did not have problems that interfered with learning during their time at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Muhammadiyah Malang. This study will use an analytical observational research design with a Cross-sectional approach using a questionnaire. This study found that the respondents most participated in the student executive body as much as 35%, the most dominant category of activity level was low as much as 31.7%, and the most academic achievement index value was good (3.00-3.50) as much as 57%. This study also produced a p-value of 0.370 (> 0.05). Extracurricular activity and cumulative achievement index do not have a significant relationship.
