Abstract
The quality of silage feed is a feed that has very good quality. assessed based on nutritional composition, such as protein, fiber, energy, vitamins, and minerals. Good silage quality is determined by the fermentation period. The purpose of this study was to determine the quality of corn stalk silage that was fermented for 14 days. The method with data analysis used in the study was quantitative descriptive analysis with the data collected being organoleptic tests, color, odor, texture, pH and proximate analysis of the quality of corn stalks stored for 7 days, 14 days, and 21 days. The results of observations on the color of silage showed that there was a change in color during fermentation. Each treatment has a distinctive odor but in this treatment the most fragrant odor is P3 because the odor produced is more concentrated. While P0-P2 the odor produced is less concentrated. all textures produced are the same, namely solid, intact and smooth. The pH of silage stored for 21 days is a good pH, namely 4.5. The best nutritional quality of corn silage with water content of 62.47%, SK 20.83% and ash 5.31%. Addition of molasses material as much as 100 ml in 5 liters of water.
