Abstract

Background: Speech delay in children's prevention in Indonesia is a serious problem that has a significant impact on children's communication and social interaction skills. Previous studies have shown that environmental factors and lack of stimulation play an important role in the emergence of this problem. Therefore, this study aims to examine the role of mothers in overcoming speech delays in children and how maternal support can encourage optimal language development in children. Method: The study used a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were obtained through semi-structured in-depth interviews, as well as observations of participants and children. Results: Four main themes were obtained, namely: 1) Creating a Fun Atmosphere to Support Children's Language Development, 2) Providing Emotional Support for Children, 3) Frequent Verbal Interaction with Children, 4) Using Body Language to Improve Communication. Conclusion: The role of mothers in overcoming speech delay in preschool children is very important. Mothers function as emotional supporters and have a significant influence on the process of children's language development. By creating a supportive environment, providing appropriate stimulation, and interacting actively, mothers can help children overcome challenges in communication and achieve optimal language development. Mothers' support and involvement greatly contribute to building children's confidence in communicating.
