Abstract

This research discusses Thematic Bureaucratic Reform which is a government strategy in overcoming governance problems that have a direct impact on achieving national development goals. One of the main focuses of thematic bureaucratic reform is poverty alleviation, which aims to increase the effectiveness of programs and policies in reducing poverty significantly. This research aims to analyze the optimization of thematic bureaucratic reforms in poverty alleviation efforts that have an impact on society. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through interviews, documentation studies, and observations of thematic bureaucratic reforms for poverty alleviation. The research analysis focused on five indicators of governance efforts in thematic poverty alleviation, namely business process improvement, data improvement, policy/regulation improvement, program/activity reformulation, and SPBE support. The results show that thematic bureaucratic reforms in poverty alleviation have brought significant changes in cross-sector coordination and improved program governance. However, there are still challenges in the professional capacity of human resources, suboptimal implementation supervision, and policy implementation at the regional level. Nevertheless, thematic bureaucratic reforms in poverty alleviation have shown positive results in reducing poverty in a sustainable manner.
