Abstract

This study aims to develop valid, practical, and effective ethnomathematics-based learning media assisted by Adobe After Effects to support students' mathematical literacy skills. This is a development study using the ADDIE model, with the subject being ninth-grade junior high school students on the topic of geometric transformations. The instruments used include interviews, documentation, expert validation sheets, response questionnaires, as well as pre-tests and post-tests of mathematical literacy skills. Data analysis techniques were conducted quantitatively and qualitatively. The validation results by media experts obtained a score of 72% and by subject matter experts obtained a score of 73%, both of which fall into the valid category for use with some revisions. The learning media was tested through two stages, namely a limited trial and a field trial. In the limited trial involving 6 students, the responses of students and teachers to the media reached 91% in the very practical category. In the field trial involving 30 students, the student response was 87% in the very practical category. The average mathematical literacy ability score increased from 54% in the pre-test to 87% in the post-test. The average N-Gain value of 0.73 falls into the high category. Seventeen students were in the high category, 13 students were in the moderate category, and no students were in the low category. Thus, this ethnomathematics-based learning media assisted by Adobe After Effects is valid, practical, and effective in supporting mathematical literacy skills while enhancing students' understanding of geometric transformation material.
