Abstract

This research was conducted on February 24, 2025, Indonesian learning subjects are very important for elementary school children because they provide a strong foundation in the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing. Difficulty learning to read is the most important problem in education, especially in elementary school children. With the existence of learning media, students will be more interested in getting to know letters and symbols and letter symbols with pleasure. aims to develop PAKAHUGA learning media in the ability of reading for 1st grade children at SDN Junrejo 02 Batu. The school needs concrete media in the learning process which aims to enable students to understand and be more active during the learning process and will not feel bored because this media is contained in the form of games.
This research was implemented using the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE (Analysis, design, Development, implementation, Evaluation) development model. This model is applied systematically starting from needs analysis, media design, product development, implementation in learning, to evaluation of its effectiveness. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The instruments used in this study were observation sheets, interview sheets, validity questionnaires, educator response questionnaires, student questionnaires, and documentation.
The results of the study show that PAKAHUGA media has passed a validation trial so that PAKAHUGA media can be declared valid to be used as a learning medium. This is supported by a percentage of acquisition through the validation of material experts obtained 75% and the validation of media experts 86%. These results show that the developed media is feasible to be implemented in elementary schools for Indonesian learning media, especially in grade 1 in elementary schools.
