Abstract

This study aims to analyze the mechanism and pattern of subsidized fertilizer marketing channels in Kloposawit Village, Candipuro Subdistrict, Lumajang Regency. The background of this research is the discrepancy between the subsidized fertilizer prices received by farmers and the government-determined Highest Retail Price (HET), as well as the imbalance between the number of retailers and farmer groups, which potentially leads to distribution inefficiencies. This research employs a descriptive quantitative approach using survey techniques through questionnaires, interviews, observations, and documentation. The sample includes one distributor, three retail kiosks, and 88 farmers from eight farmer groups. The results show that the formal distribution channels comply with government regulations; however, in practice, Urea fertilizer is sometimes sold above the HET, and marketing margins at the distributor level remain high. The margin distribution is uneven, benefiting certain parties, while the farmer’s share value is still considered efficient. The study recommends stricter supervision and evaluation of the distribution system to ensure the effectiveness and fairness of the subsidized fertilizer program.
