Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) on the writing skills of grade 3 students at SDN Ampelsari 1. Culturally Responsive Teaching is a learning approach that integrates students' cultural backgrounds into the teaching and learning process. This study focuses on the analysis of CRT on students' writing skills, the strategies used by teachers in implementing CRT, and the challenges faced in its implementation.
This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and analysis of learning documents. The results showed that the implementation of CRT can increase students' motivation and engagement in writing learning. Teachers use various strategies, such as linking learning materials to students' cultural experiences and using learning media that are relevant to the local cultural context. However, challenges such as limited time and resources were also found in the process of implementing CRT.
The conclusion of this study is that Culturally Responsive Teaching has positive potential in improving students' writing skills by considering their cultural diversity. This study provides recommendations for teachers, schools, and further researchers to develop and implement CRT effectively in Indonesian language learning.
