Abstract

This research aims to develop interactive media IPAS based on the Culturally Responsive Teaching approach on cultural diversity materials in grade IV of elementary school. Based on the analysis of needs at SD Triwung Kidul 2, it was found that there is a lack of teacher innovation in creating or creating learning media, so that students look easily bored when learning, therefore media is needed that can increase the activeness of students who are relevant to their cultural background, so that they can increase the relevance of involvement and understanding in the learning process.
This research uses the Research & Development (R&D) method using the Lee & Owens model consisting of several stages, namely, analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. This research model is used to produce technology-based products. The subject of this research is grade IV students of SD Negeri Triwung Kidul 2 Probolinggo, data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation.
The results of this study produced interactive media based on the Culturally Responsive Teaching approach obtained the result of the percentage of material validity of 93.75% and the validity of the media of 90%. This states that IPAS interactive media is declared suitable for use as a medium during the learning process. Judging from the students' responses to interactive media, IPAS based on the Culturally Responsive Teaching approach obtained a percentage of 92.8% and the results of the teacher's questionnaire obtained a percentage of 100%. So it can be said that it is suitable to be used as a reference in the development of media that is adapted to technological developments. Based on the research that has been conducted, it is hoped that the next researcher can package material with a wider scope.
