Abstract

This research originated from the policy in the Merdeka Curriculum, specifically through the -24 episode of Merdeka Belajar, titled “A Joyful Transition from Early Childhood Education (PAUD) to Primary School.” This study aims to explore the strategies employed by teachers in implementing the “Joyful Transition from PAUD to Primary School” policy in Grade 1 at SDN Giripurno 03.
The data in this study were analyzed using the qualitative analysis technique proposed by Miles and Huberman. The subjects of the research included the Grade 1 teacher, Grade 1 students, and the school principal. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires.
The results of the analysis show that the teacher’s strategies in implementing the Joyful Transition from PAUD to Primary School policy at SDN Giripurno 03 have been carried out effectively. This is evidenced by the absence of reading, writing, and arithmetic (calistung) tests, which have been replaced with psychological assessments. The implementation of the orientation period (MPLS) includes a structured schedule, environmental introduction, and field trips. The six learning foundations are implemented through habituation, the teacher’s role as a facilitator, the use of video media, movement-based approaches, and direct learning experiences. Some challenges faced by the teacher include students’ lack of discipline and the inconsistent use of media, particularly in fostering a positive perception of learning.
