This research aims to develop Pop Up-based Big Book learning media in
the early reading ability of grade II children at SDN Pendem 01 Batu City. Learning
in Big Book based on Pop Up is used in learning the Indonesian language. This
research uses the type of research and development (Research and Developmen)
with ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, implementation, and Evaluation)
mode.
This research employs the Research and Development (R&D) method using
the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation,
Evaluation). The model is applied systematically, starting from needs analysis,
media design, product development, implementation in learning, and evaluation of
its effectiveness. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews,
questionnaires, and documentation. The instruments used in this study are
observation sheets, interview sheets, validity questionnaires, teacher response
questionnaires, student response questionnaires, and documentation.
The results of the study show that Big Book based Big Pop Up media has
passed a validation trial so that Pop Up-based Big Book media can be declared valid
to be used as a learning medium. This is supported by the percentage of validation
through the validation of material experts obtained 72.22% and the validation of
media experts 95.45%. The results show that the developed media is feasible to be
implemented in elementary schools for Indonesian language learning media,
especially in grade II of SDN Pendem 01 Kota Batu. The results of the student
questionnaire showed that 80.0% rated the Pop-Up-based Big Book media as very
good, while the teacher response results showed a score of 94.4%, indicating that
the Pop-Up-based Big Book media is highly valid for use in the learning process
and can assist teachers effectively.
