Abstract

Smart Box Media is a learning media that contains material about Traffic Signs in an attractive and easy-to-use package. This media is used not only as a learning tool, but can also help students understand traffic signs on the highway that they often encounter. This study aims to develop Smart Box traffic sign learning media in Indonesian language learning for grade IV Elementary Schools.
This research and development uses the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). In addition, the data collection techniques used in this research and development were through class teacher interviews, field observations, teacher response questionnaires, students, media and material expert validation questionnaires, and documentation during the research and development process.
The results of the study found a problem that the learning media used in Indonesian Language subjects, especially in traffic sign material for grade IV elementary school students, were not in line with the characteristics and learning needs of students. This condition affects the level of student understanding of the material, which in the end can have an impact on less than optimal learning outcomes. Through these problems, this research and development produces a product, namely Smart Box with the theme of Traffic Signs for Indonesian Language learning for grade IV Elementary School. smart box media was developed by researchers as a support for ongoing learning and has been validated by experts and responses from teachers and students. Based on the results of the validation of material experts by 77.5% and media experts by 92%, it can be concluded that the Smart Box traffic signs has a high level of validity to be tested in elementary schools. Then based on the responses from teachers' responses of 89.5% and responses from students of 86%, it can be concluded that the media developed is very suitable for use in the learning process.
