Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted global supply chains and economic systems, prompting Taiwan and Australia to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation to enhance resilience and address evolving geopolitical and economic challenges. This research analyzes Taiwan & Australia's efforts to deepen their economic partnership in the post-COVID era, focusing on the renewable energy, healthcare and biotechnology, trade and logistics, and education and research sectors. Using K.J. Holsti's international cooperation framework, this qualitative descriptive research uses a literature review and secondary data from books, journals and official reports. Findings indicate significant progress in bilateral trade, with growth of 12% by 2023, alongside substantial investments in offshore wind projects and collaborative healthcare initiatives, including vaccine development and AI-based healthcare solutions. Both countries have leveraged the complementary strengths of Taiwan's technological expertise and Australia's abundance of resources to diversify supply chains and drive sustainable economic growth. However, challenges remain, including geopolitical tensions with China and regulatory differences. This study underscores the strategic importance of Taiwan-Australia economic collaboration in maintaining regional stability and resilience.
