FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG MEMPENGARUHI TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN PASIEN RAWAT JALAN TERHADAP PENYIMPANAN SEDIAAN OBAT TETES MATA DI RUMAH (Penelitian di Puskesmas Kecamatan Lowokwaru Kota Malang)

(Background) According to the Malang City Health Office in 2021, there were 1,267 individuals with low vision, with 1,151 being new cases, while the remaining 116 were old cases. The data on these patients were collected from 16 Community Health Centers in Malang City. As the number of people with visual impairments increases, the use of eye drop preparations among the public also increases. Eye drop preparations are sterile and their storage should be appropriate to prevent contamination by microorganisms. Additionally, one of the critical aspects of storage is paying attention to the expiration date and the Beyond Use Date (BUD) of the medication."
(Objectives) The objectives of this research are to determine the level of knowledge of outpatient patients regarding the storage of eye drop preparations at home among outpatient patients in all Community Health Centers in Lowokwaru Subdistrict, Malang City, and to identify which factors influence the level of knowledge of outpatient patients regarding the storage of eye drop preparations at home.
(Method) This research employed a descriptive method with an incidental sampling technique, and a total of 96 respondents were sampled for this study. Data analysis was performed using the Chi-Square test with a significance level of 0.05
(Results and Conclusion) The research results showed that the level of knowledge of respondents regarding the storage of eye drop preparations at home includes 57 respondents (59%) classified as having good knowledge, 28 individuals (29%) classified as having moderate knowledge, and 11 individuals (11%) classified as having poor knowledge. The Chi-Square test results that had an impact were the respondents' experience with a P-value of 0.000 and the occupation factor with a P-value of 0.023. Therefore, based on these results, it can be concluded that among the seven factors considered, the factors influencing the level of knowledge regarding the storage of eye drop preparations at home are internal factors, specifically experience and occupation.
