Abstract
Character education is an important part in shaping individuals who have noble morals and morals, and are ready to face the challenges of the times. In the context of education in Indonesia, strengthening Pancasila values through character education is the main goal to create a generation that is not only intellectually intelligent, but also moral and responsible. MI NU Fatchul Huda Pasuruan School manages character education based on religious values implemented through the tahfidzul Al-Qur'an program, which aims to build student character in accordance with Pancasila values, such as faith, fear of God, and noble character. However, in its implementation, there are challenges related to differences in student characteristics, as well as obstacles in internalizing the moral values contained in character education.
Research conducted at MI NU Fatchul Huda Pasuruan used descriptive qualitative research. The data sources used were principals, teachers, and students. This research was conducted from May 2023 to February 2024. To analyze the results of this study researchers conducted observations, interviews, and documentation. The purpose of this study for, (1) To examine the optimization of the religious program tahfidzul Al-Qur'an at MI NU Fatchul Huda; (2) To examine the teacher's obstacles in developing the moral value of Pancasila character education at MI NU Fatchul Huda; (3) To examine the teacher's efforts in optimizing the moral value of Pancasila character education at MI NU Fatchul Huda.
The results of the study found that Tahfidzul Al-Qur'an is carried out through daily worship habits such as dhuha prayer, one day one verse, and extracurricular tahfidz activities. Obstacles faced include differences in student character, limited ability to memorize the Qur'an, and the influence of the social environment. Efforts made by teachers include providing role models, implementing school rules consistently, strengthening cooperation with parents, and guiding students intensively in the application of Pancasila moral values. This study concludes that religious value-based character education at MI NU Fatchul Huda has an important role in shaping the Pancasila Student Profile, although more intensive strategies are still needed to overcome various obstacles.
