Abstract

Learning is a crucial process in developing students' knowledge and skills, especially at the elementary level, which serves as the foundation of formal education. One of the subjects that requires an engaging and contextual approach is mathematics, particularly the topic of rounding measurement results, which students often find difficult to understand. Based on observations and interviews in Grade IV at UPT SDN 352 Gresik, it was found that the learning process still relies heavily on textbooks without any engaging supplementary teaching materials, such as teacher-developed student worksheets (LKPD). This has led to low student motivation and difficulty in understanding the material. Therefore, this study aims to develop a contextual-based mathematics LKPD as a solution to enhance students’ engagement, understanding, and motivation in learning rounding measurement results, with the hope that the LKPD can relate mathematical concepts to real-world contexts and support the achievement of learning objectives in the Merdeka Curriculum.
The development of the contextual-based LKPD on rounding measurement results for Grade IV students at UPT SDN 352 Gresik used the ADDIE model. The development process included five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The LKPD was validated by subject matter and media experts, and tested with 25 students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The results showed that the developed LKPD was feasible and effective for use in learning, as it increased student interest and engagement.
The result of this study is the development of a contextual-based mathematics LKPD on rounding measurement results for Grade IV students at UPT SDN 352 Gresik using the ADDIE model. The LKPD was designed with a mission and adventure approach to connect measurement concepts with everyday life. Validation results showed improved feasibility from the material expert (from 66% to 92.31%) and the media expert (from 66% to 80.36%). The implementation of the LKPD helped students understand concepts more easily, supported by positive responses from teachers (94.23%) and students (93.20%). This LKPD effectively supports contextual learning within the Merdeka Curriculum and embodies the values of the Pancasila Student Profile
