Abstract

The development of a country is oriented towards improving the standard of living of its people. Limited capital is one of the obstacles to the implementation of a country's development and attracting foreign investors is one way to cover these capital limitations. This study analyzes the relationship between the variables of technological innovation, economic expansion, interest rates, corruption control and political stability to FDI inflows in the six highest FDI recipient countries of the OECD. This study uses a quantitative approach with secondary data for the period 2009-2023 obtained from the world bank. The analysis uses panel data using Random Effect model, GLM model and Robust Test. The research results show that technological innovation and economic expansion have a positive and significant effect on FDI. However, interest rates and corruption control have a negative and significant influence, while political stability in this study has no influence on FDI. These findings emphasize the importance of government policies that support the investment climate through simplifying regulations, improving infrastructure and incentives for foreign investors, as well as ensuring FDI provides inclusive and sustainable development benefits.
