Abstract
There are many variables that can affect the success or failure of a
construction project. Although the project is trying to be completed on time,
various obstacles often cause it to be delayed. Work accidents are one of these
inhibiting factors. Work accidents can slow down or even stop the construction
process. The purpose of this study is to identify the types of work accidents that
often occur in the project, assess the risk level of each failure factor, and
determine the source of the risk in work accidents of the GKB 5 UMM
Construction Project. In this study, two methods were used, namely HIRADC
(Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Determining Control) and JSA
(Job Safety Analysis). The HIRADC method is used to identify hazards, assess
the risk of work accidents, and determine control measures. In the meanwhile,
the JSA method employs a methodical approach that is helpful for identifying
preventative measures to avoid work accidents and assessing possible hazards
at every step of the project. This approach is implemented top-down, beginning
with the supposition that the primary event (Top Event) failed, and then
following the cause to the fundamental failure (Basic Cause). According to the
HIRADC investigation, the tasks of installing glass and using ladders, which
are regarded as having a MEDIUM risk rating, have the largest risk of
workplace accidents. The JSA approach is then used to conduct a thorough
investigation and develop a number of preventive actions.
