UPAYA DIPLOMASI BUDAYA INDONESIA DI JERMAN MELALUI FESTIVAL BUDAYA INDONESISCHER KULTURABEND (IKA)

This thesis is entitled Indonesian Cultural Diplomacy Efforts in Germany Through the Indonesischer Kulturabend (IKA) Cultural Festival. This research analyzes the diplomacy efforts made by the State of Indonesia in Germany through the Indonesischer Kulturabend (IKA) cultural festival. The purpose of this research is to find out the efforts, strategies, and achievements of the IKA festival in introducing Indonesian culture in Germany through bazaars and cultural theater performances. By using descriptive qualitative research method, this research will analyze, summarize, and evaluate Indonesian cultural diplomacy in Germany through the Indonesischer Kulturabend festival. The data collection technique of this research is by using primary data and secondary data. Primary data is sourced by data from the author's interviews with IKA festival actors, then secondary data is taken by data collection techniques in the form of literature studies such as books, journals, magazines, newspapers, news and websites. The results showed that Indonesian culture has been successfully introduced and promoted in Germany through the IKA cultural festival. IKA was able to attract the interest of the German public and increase their understanding of the richness of Indonesian culture through theater performances and bazaars. In addition, the involvement of governmental and non-governmental actors in the IKA festival played an important role in the success of the event and opened up space for cross-cultural communication. The IKA festival serves as a platform to strengthen relations between Indonesia and Germany, which is an important diplomatic moment with the aim of helping to enhance cultural diplomacy.
