Abstract
The purpose of this study is to evaluate Starbucks' efforts and participation to the US environmental sustainability agenda. In this research, the author collected data via literature review and Green theory as an analytical framework. The conclusions revealed are that Starbucks promotes environmental sustainability activities in the United States by focused on three primary variables: sustainability, ecosentrism, and relation between country. Starbucks has showed a great focus to eliminating plastic waste with innovative efforts such as the Recycle, strawless closures, and ecological packaging. The company's sustainability activities also involve structural modifications that include environmental, economic, and social considerations. In addition, Starbucks invests resources to green technologies, primarily through renewable energy initiatives, while promoting environmental consciousness through consumer education and food waste prevention measures. However, they must remain aware of the possible threat of greenwashing. Starbucks' motto, “Caring for Our Planet & Our People,” symbolizes their commitment to the 12th Sustainable Development Goal on responsible consumption and production.
