Abstract
Background: Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder characterized by hyperglycemia, which means too much glucose (sugar) in the blood. According to WHO in 2023 around 422 million people from all over the world have diabetes, the majority of sufferers live in low- and middle-income countries, and 1.5 million deaths are directly associated with diabetes each year. The number of cases and prevalence of diabetes has continued to increase over the past few decades. Common symptoms of diabetes are usually characterized by frequent urination (polyuria), excessive thirst (polydipsia), increased hunger (polyphagia), unexplained weight loss, blurred vision. Slow healing wounds, numbness or tingling in the hands or feet.
Research method: The research design uses the case study description method. Researchers followed scientific methods according to the principles of the nursing process by conducting analyzes in the form of interviews, physical examinations, data analysis, intervention and implementation plans and evaluations on patients with Diabetes Mellitus as many as 10 respondents.
Results: After carrying out the assessment and implementation of interviews with 4 meetings with 3 indicators of success regarding treatment, knowledge and understanding of perceptions about the family increased. In ten patients showed an increase in treatment compliance.
Conclusion: Based on the results of the analysis of nursing case studies for patients with diabetes mellitus in the Banjarejo village area, Kab. Pakis, which has implemented health promotion interventions on three patients and evaluation, can be concluded with the achievement of the outcome aspect of increasing behavior according to recommendations related to the treatment program in all ten patients, showing changes in behavior, desire to return to treatment compliance and achievement of behavioral aspects of knowledge about the disease they suffer from.
