Abstract

Background: Pencak silat is a cultural heritage as well as a national identity. The biomotor components needed by pencak silat athletes include speed, flexibility, agility, coordination, and balance. Fighters must have the ability to shoot kicks at the opponent. Kicking is one of the movement techniques in pencak silat that has high value and is a technique that is often used in matches. When kicking, it requires
the balance of the limb that becomes the fulcrum. Balance is a position where anathlete can maintain a position so as not to fall.
Proprioceptive exercise is an exercise that is formed to improve balance and increase muscle strength. Objective: Knowing the effect of proprioceptive exercise on dynamic balance in tapak suci athletes at Muhammadiyah University Malang. Research method: The research method used was a pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-test post-test design method. Respondents in this study were Tapak Suci athletes at Muhammadiyah University of Malang. The technique in taking respondents used the purposive sampling technique, which met the inclusion criteria of as many as 17 athletes. Result: Shapiro-Wilk test data analysis obtained a pre-test value of 0.990 (p < 0.05) and a pre-test value of 0.023 (p < 0.5). Conclusion: There is an effect of proprioceptive exercise on dynamic balance in Tapak Suci athletes at Muhammadiyah University of Malang
