RESEPSI MAHASISWA TERHADAP TAYANGAN PODKAESANG DEPAN PINTU EPISODE 20 (Studi Resepsi Pada Mahasiswa UMM Angakatan 2021 Terhadap Tayangan Debat Caleg Versi Komedi

The development of communication and information technology changes the way a person's mindset to get information or communicate socially, Social media or YouTube can be used by political actors to improve their image to the public towards them and build good branding in the eyes of the public, the author wants to know how young people or students interpret politics wrapped in comedy.

This approach uses a qualitative approach with an interpretive research type, data collected using the Forum Group Discussion method with eight research subjects who are UMM students supported by the YouTube broadcast of Kaesang Pangarep with the title of the comedy version of the legislative candidate debate which is viewed by each individual, while the theoretical basis used by this study uses the Stuart Hall acceptance analysis theory.
The results of this study indicate that the research subjects can interpret all the shows or scenes in the Kaesang Pangarep video entitled the comedy version of the legislative candidate debate where in reading the position of the audience showing the most dominant hegemonic position, although there are several statements or statements that lead to negotiation positions or opinions, but this is very reasonable by the researcher because of the differences in background or experience of the subjects studied about political understanding.
