This research discusses the comparison of substantive and mechanical editing in the text of the book Actions Against the Law by Prof. Dr. H. Yulius, S.H., M.Pd. Breaking the Law by Prof. Dr. H. Yulius, S.H., M.H, et al., and Actual Issues of Criminal Law in Indonesia by Prof. Masruch.Actual Issues of Criminal Law in Indonesia by Prof. Masruchin Rubai, S.H., M.S.,et al.published by InteligensiaMedia in 2024. The main objective is to describecomparison of substantive and mechanical editing in the two books to be used as an evaluation material forto be used as evaluation material for a copy editor who needs to be examined carefully in the future.carefully in the future. The research uses descriptive analysis by using Eneste's theory as the basis of analysis.
