Abstract
Writing sentences is one of the challenges students encounter when learning a foreign language, including Arabic. Many students struggle to construct and write Arabic sentences efficiently due to a lack of direct writing practice, which hinders their ability to develop writing proficiency. This issue prompted the researcher to implement the Typing Estafet game-based learning model as a method for teaching Arabic sentence writing. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of the Typing Estafet model in enhancing maharah kitabah (writing skills) among students at SMA Surya Buana Malang.
The research method employed in this study is a Pre-Experimental Design, utilizing a one-group pretest-posttest model. The population of this study consists of students from SMA Surya Buana Malang, with a sample of 20 students. The instruments used in this study include pretest and posttest assessments, each comprising 15 questions. Additionally, data were collected through a questionnaire with 7 questions and an interview with 5 questions.
Based on the research findings from the implementation of the Typing Estafet game model, students became more active, engaged, and enthusiastic in the learning process. The posttest results indicated that the experimental class, which used this model, achieved a higher average score (90.40) compared to the control class (81.70). Furthermore, the N-gain test results demonstrated that the Typing Estafet game model was effective in enhancing both vocabulary mastery and Arabic writing skills.
