Abstract

This study develops a web-based staff management system to address the challenges of human resource management at PT Zenext Creative Media, a digital service company that experiences difficulties in administration, scheduling, assignment, and staff attendance. These issues impact monthly targets, service quality, and team dynamics. This study proposes the development of a staff management system with a prototype method to accommodate user preferences and automation testing with Katalon Studio to ensure system quality. The prototype method was chosen because of its ability to actively involve users in the development process through iteration and feedback. The research stages include identifying needs (through identifying users, needs, use cases, and activity diagrams), prototyping, evaluating prototypes with Maze, developing systems with Laravel backend and ReactJS frontend, and testing systems with Katalon Studio. The results of the study indicate that the prototype method is effective in producing a system that meets user needs. Automated testing with Katalon Studio successfully validates system functionality efficiently. All test cases, including attendance in/out and schedule additions, were successfully executed. This study answers the problem formulation by implementing a prototype method adapted to user preferences and proving the effectiveness of automation testing with Katalon Studio. The resulting system is ready to be implemented to improve productivity, service quality, and customer satisfaction at PT Zenext Creative Media
