Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) in mediating the effect of transformational leadership style on employee performance. The research was conducted at the Blitar City Youth and Sports Office using a quantitative approach and explanatory research method. The population in this study amounted to 150 employees, and 110 respondents were selected as samples using simple random sampling technique. Data collection and measurement techniques using questionnaires and Likert scales. The data were analyzed through the scale range method, path analysis, and Sobel test by processing using the SPSS program. The results of the range of employee performance scales in the high category, transformational leadership style in the high category, and OCB in the very high category. The results showed that transformational leadership style had no significant effect on employee performance, but had a significant effect on OCB, which in turn had a significant effect on employee performance and also proved to fully mediate the effect of transformational leadership style on employee performance significantly. Based on these results, it is recommended that the agency provide training in decision-making and authorization to increase employee independence. Leaders are also expected to improve personal communication and constructive feedback. In addition, communication and appreciation forums should be held to increase employee participation in organizational activities and strengthen the agency's reputation.
