Abstract

School Literacy Movement (GLS) is a program that aims to improve students' literacy skills so that they are able to understand and process information effectively. This study aims to analyze the implementation of GLS in supporting the optimization of the results of the Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM) of grade V students at SDN 1 Jeli Tulungagung. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation.
The results of the study indicate that GLS at SDN 1 Jeli has been implemented through various activities such as providing a reading corner, getting used to reading 15 minutes before learning, and collaborating with the Regional Library (PUSDA). Supporting factors for the implementation of GLS include support from the principal, teachers, and parents, while the obstacles faced include limited reading materials and low reading interest among some students. Optimal implementation of GLS has been proven to help students improve their understanding of literacy-based questions in AKM.
This study concludes that GLS has an important role in improving students' literacy skills which contribute to AKM results. Therefore, schools need to develop further strategies, such as providing more varied reading resources and innovations in literacy-based learning methods, to increase the effectiveness of this program.
