This research has a background that is related to a series of election events in 2024 with a focus on the Jakarta elections that have been held from May 5 to December 16, 2024. Before the regional elections, each candidate needs a campaign and this was also done by Ridwan Kamil as the candidate for governor of Jakarta. One form of campaign conducted by Ridwan Kamil and also highlighted by many netizens is an event called Bongkar Aspirasi Ridwan Kamil. The event focuses on the aspirations and desires of Jakarta residents and can be followed by all groups, especially Jakarta residents themselves. On social media, the event became the talk of many people, including platform X. Thus, causing a lot of pro, con, and neutral comments.
This study uses political communication theory, according to Plano, political communication can be interpreted as part of the dissemination of a message that has a relationship with the occurrence of a political process between political actors and society.
This research uses a quantitative approach with a content analysis method that focuses on analyzing and drawing conclusions on all forms of communication messages, especially in the mass media. In the content analysis process, it requires a valid and credible analysis and will be assisted by 2 coders.
The results of this study show that netizens' comments on Ridwan Kamil's Bongkar Aspirasi event on platform X show a dominant counter comment category with a percentage of 68% of the 213 population and samples determined by the researcher. Many of the netizens were disappointed with Ridwan Kamil's performance when he entered politics and many netizens said the event seemed inauthentic. On the other hand, researchers found pro and neutral comment categories with only 14% and 18% respectively.
