Abstract
The Pancasila Student Profile is an effort to improve the quality of education by emphasizing character development. Literacy is the ability to read and write which includes various forms of work, as a means of expressing thoughts through symbols and language that form understanding. This study aims to explore the application of the Pancasila Student Profile based on literacy culture in grade III students at SDN 2 Balesari. The focus of the research includes the implementation, supporting factors, and inhibiting factors of the Pancasila student profile through literacy activities in grade III students at SDN 2 Balesari.
The approach used in this study is a qualitative approach. This type of research is qualitative descriptive research. The data sources used consist of two sources in obtaining data, namely primary and secondary data. As for this study, the data was generated through interviews with school principals, grade III teachers, and grade III students of SDN 2 Balesari, observation, and documentation. Data analysis goes through three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn.
The results of the study show that the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile through literacy culture has succeeded in shaping the character of students who have faith, piety, noble character, and have the ability to think critically. Sustainable literacy activities, supported by school infrastructure and the role of teachers as motivators, are able to encourage the development of independence, creativity, curiosity, and cooperation skills, as well as being able to interact well with others. However, the study also identified significant challenges, especially related to students' basic reading skills and lack of parental involvement in supporting literacy development. The low interest in reading and the basic spelling stage have an impact on the character development and confidence of students. In this case, the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile based on literacy culture requires a comprehensive approach that involves schools, teachers, and parents to optimize the potential and character of students according to the value of the Pancasila Student Profile.
