Abstract
Climate change is a change caused directly or indirectly by human activities. This problem cannot be resolved by itself without human efforts. Therefore, it is important for students to have good knowledge and understanding of climate change. Through science subjects, students can provide initial knowledge about global issues, including climate change. However, there are several challenges faced by teachers in teaching concepts that suit students' needs in a way that is interesting and easy to understand. Therefore, innovative learning strategies are really needed by teachers to increase students' awareness regarding learning material that is linked to climate change.
This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The research was carried out at SDN Tlogomas 2 Malang with primary data sources namely the principal, teachers and class VI students. This research uses data collection techniques such as interviews, observation and documentation. Research data analysis went through four stages, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. Checking the validity of the data uses two techniques, namely source triangulation and technical triangulation.
The results of the research data show that at SDN Tlogomas 2 Malang, learning has been implemented that is integrated with climate change across subjects, especially in class VI, namely the social sciences subject, the innovative learning strategy used by teachers in optimizing climate change awareness is using 2 learning strategies, namely direct learning strategies and experimental learning strategies with a project based learning (PJBL) model with the STAR approach. There are supporting factors that teachers use, namely the existence of learning media. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors are managing student learning methods, teacher reflection and teacher readiness.
