Abstract

Communication is an important activity in human life, including in the work environment and organisation. The effectiveness of communication between employees and company leaders in the HR or Human Resources department can realise the success of the management of these resources. The intensity of good communication between leaders and staff/employees in the HR department can affect the performance and productivity of the organisation as a whole. Effective communication can help build trust, increase motivation, minimise misunderstandings, and strengthen relationships between leaders and staff/employees. On the other hand, if communication between them in HR is not effective, this can lead to disagreements, conflicts, and dissatisfaction among staff/employees, which can negatively affect the performance and productivity of the organisation.
The purpose of this study is to identify the types of communication patterns that occur between leaders and staff/employees in the HR department of the Palangka Raya Police and analyse the causal factors that affect the occurrence of these communication patterns, such as leadership style, level of trust, and clarity of organisational goals. While this research method is a qualitative research method.
The results of this study conclude that communication is the main foundation; effective communication is the basis of good human resource management in the Palangkaraya Police. A thorough communication pattern helps ensure that relevant information is conveyed clearly and in a timely manner to all parties involved. From the various types of communication in the HR Section of the Palangkaraya Police, which relies on various types of communication, including internal communication (between staff and police members), recruitment and selection communication, training communication, welfare communication, and administrative communication, the HR Section of the Palangkaraya Police also uses communication patterns overall. It provides great benefits, such as operational efficiency, better coordination, and faster problem handling. Thorough communication also makes the satisfaction of related police members close to good communication. They feel valued and empowered when they have access to relevant information and the opportunity to communicate with management.
