Abstract
Background : Cervical cancer is a malignancy of cells that occurs in the female reproductive organs in the area of the cervix. Chemotherapy is one of the treatments used to fight cancer cells which aims to suppress or destroy cancer cells. Chemotherapy usually lasts a long time and during the chemotherapy process, in addition to the effects of chemotherapy, patients also often experience chronic pain and mental stress, which causes depression, anxiety and stress. There are several efforts that must be made to reduce stress levels, namely peer support. Peer support education is a form of care that brings together patients with the same situation to share treatment experiences together, and achieve peer support education goals. Method: The research method used is a case study report, namely an in-depth research method for a particular case. This study aims to understand the phenomenon as a whole in a specific context. Results: After the intervention, it showed that providing education and peer support can help overcome psychological disorders experienced by cervical cancer patients to help improve patient self-efficacy, thereby improving quality of life. Discussion: Psychological disorders experienced by chemotherapy patients can worsen the patient's condition, to help overcome or reduce depression and stress experienced by patients, education and peer support can help improve patient self-efficacy so that it can improve the patient's quality of life.
