Abstract
This research is entitled "Strategy of the General Election Commission (KPU) of Malang City in Political Participation of Voters in the 2024 Election". This study aims to examine the strategies implemented by the General Election Commission (KPU) of Malang City in encouraging Political Participation of Voters in the 2024 Election. This research was conducted at the General Election Commission (KPU) of Malang City. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a case study research type. Determination of research subjects was carried out using the purposive sumption technique. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and interview techniques. The theory used for analysis in this study is the Structural Functional Theory initiated by Talcott Parsons. The results of this study are the factors that influence the level of political participation of the community in the election in Malang City are influenced by technical factors, work factors, administrative factors, lack of socialization, political factors. Then the strategies carried out by the General Election Commission (KPU) of Malang City to overcome low political participation are millennial campaign activities such as the Malang mbois run election. Democracy volunteer program, socialization to the community in the sub-district, and socialization for new voters with the KPU goes to campus, school, and Islamic boarding school program. If analyzed using the Structural Functional Theory, the General Election Commission (KPU) of Malang City plays a major role in the sustainability of the 2024 general election. The KPU is the election organizer responsible for increasing public political participation, and there are considerations that are put forward to achieve the goals. All stages in this structural functional concept influence each other and are continuous. So when there is a structure or stage that is not functioning, the strategy of the General Election Commission (KPU) of Malang City will not run optimally.
