Abstract
This research was conducted to determine which feed is better and more efficient. The research aimed to which feed is more efficient in achieving average daily gain in Brahman Cross heifer cattle in the grower phase. The material used consisted of Brahman Cross cattle, with 35 head per paddock, having average body weights of 229.18 kg for P1 and 290 kg for P2 per head per day. The treatments given were P1 (rice straw with concentrate) and P2 (elephant grass with concentrate). This research was an observational study using a T-test. The results showed that the Average Daily Gain (ADG) in Brahman Cross heifers during the grower phase with P2 treatment showed no significant difference (P>0,05). Dry matter consumption in both treatments showed no significant difference (P>0,05). Feed conversion in both treatments for Brahman Cross heifers showed not significant differences (P>0,05). Feed efficiency in the t-test was not significantly different (P>0,05). The rice straw treatment was lower at 16.66%, while the elephant grass treatment was higher at 16.90%. elephant grass treatment was higher at 16.90%. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the treatment of straw (P1) and elephant grass (P2) influenced but not significantly.
