Abstract
Komitmen organisasi pada anggota organisasi kemahasiswaan di Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) mengalami permasalahan dalam regenerasi kepemimpinan, yang tercermin dari ketidakaktifan anggota. Seseorang dengan kecerdasan emosional yang baik dapat membangun hubungan lebih efektif dengan rekan kerja dan meningkatkan komitmen organisasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kecerdasan emosional terhadap komitmen organisasi pada anggota organisasi kemahasiswaan di UMM. Pendekatan kuantitatif digunakan dengan melibatkan 138 mahasiswa aktif yang dipilih melalui purposive sampling. Kecerdasan Emosional diukur dengan Emotional Intelligence Measure (Carson et al., 2016) berdasarkan teori kecerdasan emosi Goleman yang terdiri dari 30 item, sementara Komitmen Organisasi diukur dengan Organizational Commitment Scale (Jonathan, 2020) berdasarkan teori komitmen organisasi Meyer & Allen yang terdiri dari 28 item. Analisis data menggunakan regresi linear sederhana menunjukkan bahwa kecerdasan emosional berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap komitmen afektif (p = 0.000), komitmen normatif (p = 0.007), dan komitmen berkelanjutan (p = 0.017). Kecerdasan emosional memberikan kontribusi sebesar 11,1%, 5,2%, dan 4,1% terhadap variasi komitmen organisasi. Penelitian selanjutnya disarankan untuk melibatkan sampel lebih besar dan mengeksplorasi intervensi untuk meningkatkan kecerdasan emosional dan komitmen organisasi.
Abstract. Organizational commitment to members of student organizations at the Faculty of Psychology, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) is experiencing problems in leadership regeneration, which is reflected in the inactivity of members. Good emotional intelligence can build more effective relationships with colleagues and increase organizational commitment. This research aims to analyze the influence of emotional intelligence on organizational commitment among members of student organizations at UMM. A quantitative approach was used involving 138 active students selected through purposive sampling. Emotional Intelligence is measured with the Emotional Intelligence Measure (Carson, et al., 2000) based on Goleman's emotional intelligence theory which consists of 30 items, while Organizational Commitment is measured with the Organizational Commitment Scale (Jonathan, 2020) based on Meyer & Allen's organizational commitment theory which consists of 28 items. Data analysis using simple linear regression shows that emotional intelligence has a positive and significant effect on affective commitment (p = 0.000), normative commitment (p = 0.007), and continuance commitment (p = 0.017). Emotional intelligence contributed 11.1%, 5.2%, and 4.1% to the variation in organizational commitment. Future research should involve larger samples and explore interventions to increase emotional intelligence and organizational commitment.
