Abstract

Latar Belakang : Hiperkolesterolemia merupakan kondisi saat konsentrasi kolesterol di dalam darah melebihi batas normal. Hiperkolesterolemia berakibat akumulasi kolesterol dan lipid pada dinding pembuluh darah. Kolesterol LDL-teroksidasi berperan dalam pembentukan plak aterosklerosis atau penyempitan pembuluh darah.
Tujuan: Membuktikan pengaruh antioksidan pada ekstrak bunga turi merah terhadap gambaran histopatologi aorta tikus putih jantan strain wistar hiperkolesterolemia.
Metode: True Experimental, The Post Test Only Control Group Design. Sampel 35 ekor tikus dibagi 5 kelompok. Kelompok I (Kontrol negatif), Kelompok II (Kontrol positif), Kelompok III dosis 0,864mg/200grBB tikus/hari, Kelompok IV dosis 1,768mg/200grBB tikus/hari, Kelompok V dosis 3,528mg/200grBB tikus/hari.
Hasil Penelitian dan Diskusi: Hasil uji One way Anova, didapatkan pengaruh yang bermakna (nilai sig= 0,000
Kesimpulan: Ekstrak bunga turi merah dapat mengurangi ketebalan dinding pada aorta tikus putih jantan hiperkolesterolemia.
ABSTRACT
Background: Hypercholesterolemia is a condition of high blood concentration of cholesterol material in the blood stream over the normal limits. Hypercholesterolemia is caused by the accumulation of cholesterol and lipid in the blood vessel wall. Oxidized-LDL-cholesterol plays an important role in the atherosclerotic plaque formation or narrowing of the arteries vessel.
Purpose: Proving the effect of antioxidant in red turi flower extract on histopathological image of the aorta in hypercholesterolemic male strain wistar white rats.
Method: True Experimental, The Post Test Only Control Group Design. The 35 samples of rats were divided into 5 groups. Group I (Negative control), Group II (Positive control), Group III with dose of 0,864mg/200grBB rat/day, Group IV with dose of 1,768mg/200grBB rat/day, Group V with dose of 3,528mg/200grBB rat/day.
Result and Discussion: The result of ANOVA test indicated the significant effect (sig= 0,000 < p (0,05). Tukey 5% test showed difference notation between the groups, it meant that there was an effect of red turi flower extract against decreased the thickness of aorta on hypercholesterolemic male white rats. The result of the regression test was significant influence (R2 =0,775; Sig= 0.000<0.05). Correlation tests in this study showed by the sig. (2-tailed) =0.000
Conclusion: The extract of red turi flower could reduce the thickness of aorta on hypercholesterolemic male white rats
