Abstract
Advancements in civil engineering have driven innovations in multi-story building construction, one of which is the use of prestressed precast hollow core slabs (HCS) as an alternative to conventional concrete. Conventional concrete, which is poured on-site, has limitations such as long construction durations and inconsistent quality. In contrast, HCS offers more reliable concrete quality, reduced formwork and reinforcement requirements, and smaller structural dimensions due to its lighter load. This study aims to redesign the floor structure of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Building at Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University (UNTIRTA) using the prestressed HCS method, in accordance with SNI 2847:2019, to reduce construction duration, enhance structural efficiency, and create a more economical and sustainable construction system. Based on the redesign, the hollow core slab design uses 200 mm thick and 1200 mm wide slabs with 7 strands of 7/16 and 5/16 diameter, with strengths of 270 ksi and 250 ksi low-relaxation strands. The inverted T-beam main beam has dimensions of 450 mm in width and 700 mm in height, while the columns are 450 mm x 450 mm in size.
