Abstract
The phenomenon of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 has changed the employment landscape in the UK through digitalization, automation, and technological change. The purpose of this study is to analyze how the impact of the industrial revolution 4.0 on employment in the UK and what solutions the British government has made to overcome this phenomenon. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research method. The data sources used come from primary and secondary data, where primary data comes from government reports and websites while secondary data comes from research such as journals, articles, news, and other documents related to the research topic. In this study, the author uses public policy theory according to William Dunn to answer the problem formulation, according to Dunn policies are made based on issues that occur in society and these policies can solve the issues that occur, in this case the issue that occurs in the UK is the decline in employment due to automation that replaces people's jobs. The results of this study are that the Industrial Revolution 4.0 has an impact on the structure of people's jobs and the emergence of several job sectors that are vulnerable to technology. In this case, according to Dunn's theory, the British Government is dealing with the impact of the 4.0 Revolution by building a National Retraining Scheme to provide access to training and education that is in accordance with the needs of the future labor market.
