Abstract
Fatherlessness is defined as the absence of a father in caring for a child both physically and psychologically. The fatherless has a negative impact on decisions about teenagers' career aspirations, because psychologically it makes teenagers less ambitious and less resilient due to a feeling of helplessness, so that the potential that exists in teenagers becomes hampered in their development process, which will make teenagers only able to accept his situation as it is. Career aspirations have been conceptualized in career development theory as the main career development task for adolescents when looking for a career that is in accordance with human self-concept. The aim of this research is to determine the influence of career aspirations on psychological well-being which is moderated by forgiveness. This research used a quantitative approach with a correlational research design with a sample of 209 teenagers who experience fatherlessness. Data collection was carried out using measuring instruments on the forgiveness scale, psychological well-being scale, and career aspiration scale. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling using the Precess Hayes model 1 analysis technique. The research results showed that the career aspiration variable had a significant effect on the psychological well-being variable, this was proven by the value of p = 0.000 (p < 0.05). Meanwhile, the results of the interaction between forgiveness and the influence of career aspirations on psychological well-being show a significance value of p = 0.013 (p < 0.05) as well as the Hayes process analysis which produces an interaction value (p = 0.047 > 0.05). Thus, it can be concluded that the forgiveness variable is able to act as a moderator of the influence of career aspirations on psychological well-being in fatherless adolescents.
