Abstract

Sexual harassment is unfortunately a common occurrence. A traumatic event that can have a huge impact on a person's life cannot simply be passed over if the individual does not have high resilience. Resilience can affect individuals when exposed to sexual harassment, such as reducing the tonic immobility response which can worsen the resilience that develops within a person. This research aims to determine whether there is a significant relationship between resilience abilities and the level of tonic immobility response that occurs when sexual violence occurs. This research used a non-experimental quantitative approach with 131 subjects who had experienced sexual harassment in the past year. The measuring scales used are the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale and the Tonic Immobility Scale (TIS). In this research, the results of a simple linear regression analysis test prove that there is a positive relationship between the level of resilience and the tonic immobility response by showing p of 0.017 which is smaller than alpha 0.05. This means that there is a relationship between the tonic immobility response and the level of resilience of individual victims of sexual harassment, with the tonic immobility response contributing 4,3% to the level of individual resilience.
