Abstract

The Orthopedic & Traumatology Hospital Building in Surabaya currently uses a concrete structure, which has weaknesses in resisting tensile forces and requires a longer construction time. This research provides an alternative design using Composite Steel Structure, which offers advantages in tensile strength, lighter weight, and load-bearing efficiency, while the Concentrically Braced Frame (CBF) enhances rigidity and stability by resisting lateral forces due to earthquakes.
This design is based on several regulations, including SNI-1727:2020 on Minimum Design Loads and Related Criteria for Building Structures, SNI-1729:2020 on Specifications for Structural Steel Buildings, SNI-1726:2019 on Earthquake Resistance Design for Building Structures, SNI-7860:2020 on Seismic Requirements for Structural Steel Buildings, SNI-7972:2020 on Qualified Connections for Special and Intermediate Moment Frames for Seismic Applications, and SNI-2847:2019 on Structural Concrete Requirements.
Based on the design analysis and calculations, it is concluded that the building will use a 120 mm thick floor deck with a base metal of 0.70 mm type W-1000 from PT. Union Metal. The steel profiles used for beams, columns, and bracing are as follows: Z-direction Secondary Beam using WF 300x150x6.5x9, X-direction Secondary Beam using WF 400x200x8x13, Z-direction Main Beam using WF 600x300x12x25, X-direction Main Beam using WF 600x300x12x25, Column using WF 600x600x15x30, and Bracing using WF 400x400x13x21.
