Abstract

In modern times, 21st century skills or commonly known as 21 century skills are becoming a topic of conversation in the world of education. In the 21st century, student competence is no longer centered on knowledge or cognitive abilities alone, but personal and social skills also need to be improved and developed. One of the skills needed in the 21st century is communication and collaboration skills. The results of observations on biology learning in class X MA Muhammadiyah 01 Malang show that students' collaboration and communication skills are in the deficient category. The lack of student collaboration and communication skills can be seen from the low learning process, low activeness during discussions, presentations, and the lack of conduciveness for students in conveying an argument in terms of communication. This research aims to determine collaboration and communication skills through implementing the OIDDE learning model. The type of research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) with a qualitative descriptive research approach. Data collection was obtained from observations during learning activities and learning results tests using pre-post test questions. The research carried out consisted of two cycles. Each research cycle consists of 3 stages, namely; Planning Stage, Action Stage, Observation and Reflection Stage. The research subjects were class X MA Muhammadiya Malang students with a total of 18 students. Based on the research results, it is known that this research can improve students' collaboration and communication skills. The improvements that have occurred prove that implementing the OIDDE learning model can make learning activities more productive and effective.
