Abstract
Employees have many tasks that must be completed within a specified time. Sometimes problems arise when completing tasks, so employees must overcome them. Employees who solve problems by focusing on problems (problem focused coping) can make employees healthier and more mature. Employees with an internal locus of control tend to use problem focused coping in overcoming problems. This study aims to determine the relationship between internal locus of control and problem focus coping. This study is a quantitative correlational study. The subjects of this study were 102 startup employees in Malang City who were taken using the incidental sampling technique. The instruments used in this study were the Locus of Control scale and the problem focused coping scale. The data analysis technique used was the Karl Pearson Product Moment correlation with the help of the SPSS version 26.0 program. The results of the study showed that there was a positive and significant correlation between internal locus of control and problem focus coping in startup employees. The contribution of internal locus of control to problem focus coping was 36%.
