Abstract

This research aims to explore life experiences in religion, more especially when informants interpret the dawn prayer in congregation in mosques to strengthen work ethic in the field of teacher training. This research was conducted qualitatively with a phenomenological type of research on four informants who had different characteristics in the work environment. The data collection technique is by interview and documentation. The data obtained were then analyzed using the descriptive-psychological phenomenological analysis technique offered by Giorgi. The results of the study show that the implementation of congregational dawn prayers in mosques has at least two meanings for informants, the first is the meaning of reflection with benefits that can be felt directly. Second, it is the meaning in strengthening the teacher's ethos which is felt indirectly. The first meaning consists of four elements, namely: spurring productivity, striving to maintain health, giving birth to an attitude of preparation and willingness, and fostering religious character. These four elements also help strengthen the teacher's work ethic which is indirectly felt in school activities, including discipline, empathy, integrity, hard work, sincerity and creativity.
