Abstract. The thesis completion period is a phase where students will focus on one task in order to complete their studies. In the process, several things can be like pressure experienced by students such as academic stress due to various demands, one of which is parental expectations. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between parental expectations and the level of academic stress experienced by students who are completing their thesis. This study uses a quantitative method. The subjects in this study were 199 students who were working on their thesis. The sampling technique used was accidental sampling with the criteria of being in the final semester and completing the thesis. For data analysis using the Spearman correlation test using SPSS. Based on the results of the study, there is a significant relationship between parental expectations (X) and academic stress of students (Y) who are completing their thesis. The relationship between parental expectation factors and academic stress experienced by students is quite significant as evidenced by the results of the correlation coefficient (r) of 0.587, so there is a positive relationship indicating that the higher the parental expectations, the higher the academic stress experienced by students. The relationship between parental expectations and academic stress is very significant as evidenced by (p) 0.000 less than 0.05.
