Abstract

Teaching English speaking in Junior High School requires quick thinking and
inventiveness. The students had a difficult time developing their speaking abilities. The students believe that speaking English is difficult. They lack the courage to
speak up, particularly in front of classmates and the teacher. This research aims
to determine the students' experience in speaking English using the demonstration
method. The demonstration approach is a teaching strategy in which teachers use
examples to help students understand concepts or to demonstrate how to carry
out tasks.This research uses a qualitative method with a case study design. The
subject of this research is students in grade VIII at MTs Muhammadiyah 2
Kedungadem Bojonegoro. Data techniques are data display, data reduction, and
conclusion. The data was collected through observation and interviews with the
subject. The results of the observation were based on students' observations and
interviews. The demonstration method contributes to learning to speak
