Abstract

Indonesia is traversed by the subduction route of three tectonic plates, namely the Indo-Australian Plate, the Eurasian Plate and the Pacific Plate. This causes Indonesia have the potential for earthquakes and requires mitigation measures such as the use of technology to detect earthquakes. The aim of this research is to create an earthquake detection tool in multi-storey buildings that can provide warnings to users. The components used in this tool are ESP 8266 VEMOS, vibration sensor, buzzer, 16 x 2 LCD, and LED. The working principle of this tool is that if a shock occurs, the vibration sensor will read the vibration and display a signal to the user, in the form of a warning sign, a red light, and a siren sound indicating an earthquake. Apart from that, the tool will send a notification 'there is an earthquake' via the Telegram application. This tool will increase the safety and comfort of building users.
